There and back again: A circuit extraction tale

Translations between the quantum circuit model and measurement-based one-way are useful for verification optimisation of computations. They make crucial use a property known as gflow. While gflow is defined computations allowing measurements in three different planes Bloch sphere, most research so far has focused on containing only XY-plane. Here, we give first circuit-extraction algorithm to work all having The efficient resulting circuits do not contain ancillae. One-way represented using ZX-calculus, hence also represents general procedure extracting from ZX-diagrams. In developing this algorithm, generalise several concepts results previously XY-plane measurements. We bring together rewrite rules measurement patterns formalise them unified notation ZX-calculus. These used simplify by reducing number qubits while preserving both semantics existence can be applied translating back again.
